One of the major logistics company in the world wanted to upgrade and enhance their 20+ year
old legacy applications which were built using Web Logic+Oracle to the latest,
Java+Springboot+Angular/React+Oracle technologies using microservices architecture. The
reason being the legacy applications were prone to security vulnerabilities & the support by
the original technology providers was hard to come by. Any change requests would take a long
time to implement.
The applications were critical since the business was using them every single minute, so
downtime was impossible to manage. It was important that the user experience was not
adversely affected, and it was enhanced by the new applications.
Many business owners were involved in the development of the applications and each of their
requirements had to be grasped and their pain points understood.
The DevOps side was equally critical, security level had to be high. It was indeed a
challenge to successfully implement this project!
EchoFeel BA team spent a considerable amount of time understanding the business side of it
by interacting with the end users. Next, the project management team, solution architecture
team & the devops team interacted with the client IT Team & the security & infrastructure
team to understand the operations, infrastructure, deployment & hosting challenges so that
apart from designing a flexible & scalable architecture, an optimum project management plan
could be drawn up which also included choosing the right skillsets and team mix which could
take the project to a successful completion.
EchoFeel was able to deliver 95% of the client expectations at the completion of the first
UAT, which was a record in itself and duly acknowledged by the client. By the end of the 2nd
and 3rd UAT for a project of such magnitude and scale, the completion and sign-off was
reached with atleast a week to spare for the due date. The client ofcourse rewarded EchoFeel
with many more projects after this.
